Position Details

• Location: Cuba, New York
• Facility: Cuba Memorial Hospital
• Start Date: January 2027
• Employment Type: W2 or 1099
• Schedule: Week-on/Week-off
• Shift Structure: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
  • Daytime patient care: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Overnight call coverage from home or provided onsite accommodations: 7:00 PM - 7:00 Hospitalist Opportunity

Practice Environment

• Typically 8-10 patients per day
• Approximately 60-bed facility
• Patient population consists primarily of:
  • Skilled nursing facility residents
  • Swing bed patients
  • Rehabilitation patients
  • Limited acute medical admissions
• Very low patient volume and acuity
• Collegial, supportive medical staff

Medical Care Unit

Cuba Memorial Hospital's Medical Care Unit provides comprehensive care for patients requiring ongoing medical management, rehabilitation services, transitional care, and palliative care. The unit is designed to deliver high-quality acute and post-acute care in a comfortable, patient-centered environment while supporting recovery and long-term health goals.

Call Coverage

• Onsite room provided for overnight call
• Physicians may leave the facility while on call, provided they remain within approximately 10-15 minutes of the hospital
• Local physicians may have the flexibility to return home overnight while remaining available for call coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active New York Medical License
• Active DEA Registration
• Hospitalist experience preferred

Compensation

• $2700-$2,900 per shift
