Aya Healthcare is seeking Hospitalist physicians (MD/DO; Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained) for locum tenens day and night coverage at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center (Sound Physicians) in Washington, DC. Three positions are open; start anticipated September 2026.
• 136-bed acute care hospital (expandable to 184) and Level III trauma center with a closed ICU and 24-hour board-certified intensivist coverage
• Staffing model: 2 MDs on days (7A-7P), 1 APP on days (7A-7P) and 1 MD on nights (7P-7A)
• Average census about 41, with approximately 8.8 admits and 48 encounters per day
• Hospitalist supervises APPs; procedures optional; Oracle (Cerner) EMR
• Cardiology on site weekdays, GI/ID by phone; temporary privileges available case by case

Job Responsibilities
• Supervise APP hospitalists
• Manage an average census of about 41 patients with roughly 48 encounters per day
• Coordinate care with on-site cardiology, intensivists and phone consultants
Qualifications
• Active District of Columbia license, DEA and DC CSR at time of presentation
• 3 same-specialty peer references; clean file for credentialing (30-60 days)
• Procedures not required
• Willingness to work days and/or nights
