Hospitalist MD/DO - Meridian, MS

Flexible Monthly Shifts | Day & Night Coverage | No Procedures Required

An excellent Hospital Medicine opportunity is available for qualified physicians in Mississippi. This position offers flexible monthly scheduling within an established hospital medicine program, with opportunities for both day and night coverage. Physicians will work alongside an experienced team in a 260-bed hospital with a closed ICU, round-robin admissions, and an onsite Family Medicine residency program.

Candidates must be available for both days and nights and able to commit to 7–10 shifts per month.

• Minimum Commitment: 7–10 shifts per month

• Admissions: Round-robin model

• ICU: Closed ICU

• EMR: Epic

• Procedures: None required

• Additional Responsibilities: Respond to codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs)

Day Coverage

• 7:00 AM–5:00 PM: 2 physicians and 2 NPPAs

• 8:00 AM–6:00 PM: 2 physicians and 2 NPPAs

Night Coverage

• 7:00 PM–7:00 AM: 1 physician

• 6:00 PM–4:00 AM: 1 NPPA

CCU Coverage

• Days: 1 physician from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 1 NPPA from 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Nights: 1 NPPA from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

• MD or DO

• Completed 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• Third-year Emergency Medicine residents must have approved moonlighting privileges

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or eligible certification through AOBIM/AOMFM

• Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license

• Active DEA with a Mississippi address and Schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV, and V

• ACLS certification required

• Current flu vaccination required

• COVID vaccination preferred

Candidates must meet at least one of the following:

• Provided inpatient or outpatient services to at least 30 patients within the past 12 months, or

• Successfully completed a hospital-affiliated accredited residency, special clinical fellowship, or research program

Case logs from the past 24 months may be requested.
