Aya Healthcare is seeking a Hospitalist for a Locum Tenens opportunity covering day and night shifts at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital (Sound Physicians) in Fresno, CA. Start date 9/21/2026; priority for September availability.
- 48-bed pre-planned surgical hospital (no ED) with a 9-bed open ICU where surgeons are primary and hospitalists consult
- Average daily census of approximately 28; dedicated hospitalist team (no floating)
- Days 7A-7P (2 physicians) and nights 7P-7A (1 physician with cross-cover of a behavioral health hospital)
- Physician leads codes and rapid responses; Epic EMR; APP supervision
Job Responsibilities
• Work 12-hour day (7A-7P) or night (7P-7A) shifts; nights include cross-coverage of behavioral health hospital patients
• Lead codes and rapid responses; supervise APPs
• Epic EMR
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience; Epic experience required
• California license required; ACLS required
• Clean file (no malpractice or background issues) for expedited privileging
