Academic Hospitalist

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our hospitalist team in a teaching role at an academic hospital in Greater NYC. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a strongly academic environment, engaging with medical students, externs, and a residency program. The role emphasizes teaching and collaboration, making it ideal for those passionate about education and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a 10-person hospitalist team to provide comprehensive care.
• Engage in teaching activities with residents, medical students, and externs.
• Work a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM or 9 AM - 5 PM, with one month per year on a 4 PM - 12 AM shift.
• Participate in one weekend per month and two holidays per year, with additional compensation.
• Manage admissions every other day during regular hours, with resident teams handling evenings and overnights.
• Optional participation in procedures to support Interventional Radiology.
• Collaborate with intensivists for critical patient needs, as the ICU is closed and no codes are managed by hospitalists.

Requirements

• Active NY License.
• Residency Training in Internal Medicine (Family Medicine considered with hospitalist experience).
• Board Eligibility or Board Certification Required.
• Residents graduating in the next 12 months are encouraged to apply.
