Job description
We are seeking a Hospitalist for a locum tenens position in Derry, NH. This is an inpatient hospital medicine opportunity at an acute care facility serving an underserved patient population. Please see below for more information.
- 120-bed acute care hospital
- Meditech EMR
Job Responsibilities
Round on 15-22 patients per day depending on volume and shift
Manage a daily census of 50-60 patients
Complete 10-12 daily admissions
Manage a workload of 18-20+ encounters per shift
Round in an open ICU with intensivist involvement
Provide 1-2 consults per day, including to the behavioral health unit and surgery
No procedures or vent management required
Emergency privileges may be considered depending on facility need
Trauma surgery manages trauma cases; hospitalists are not typically involved
Qualifications
Active DEA required in hand at time of submission
NPI number required with submission
Working Hours
Night shifts: 3 x 12 hours, 19:00-7:00 (flexible)
Day shifts: 3 x 10 hours, 7:00-19:00
Varied 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts
Weekday services: Service A 7a-7p; Service B 8a-4p; Service C 7a-3p
In-shift call blocks: Service C 7a-11a; Service B 11a-3p; Service A 3p-7p
All three services extend to 12 hours during high-volume periods
Weekends: two 12-hour services with surge coverage added as needed
Once the call rotation block is complete, no callback is expected after the shift ends
Providers may be submitted for their preferred shift (days or nights); ability to work both is preferred
Orientation: one orientation/shadow shift plus a second shadow shift, both 12 hours
