Locum Tenens Hospitalist Physician – Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Facility: Fargo VA Health Care System / Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Position: Hospitalist Physician – Locum Tenens
Compensation: $185
Job Responsibilities
Perform admissions, daily rounds, and discharges
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical studies
Manage common inpatient medical conditions and coordinate specialty consultations when appropriate
Respond to changes in patient condition and provide timely clinical intervention
Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, specialty physicians, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Provide appropriate transitions of care and discharge planning
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the VA electronic medical record
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as required
Provide patient- and family-centered care consistent with VA standards and policies
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia, subject to VA credentialing requirements
Current BLS certification
Current DEA registration, if required for the assignment
Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing and background requirements
Recent hospitalist or inpatient medicine experience strongly preferred
Working Hours
12 hour shifts
