Job description
We are seeking a Hospitalist for a locum tenens position in Ketchikan, Alaska. This is a Critical Access Hospital inpatient role managing both med/surg and ICU patients, with no 24-hour call. Please see below for more information.
- Critical Access Hospital, 25 beds, avg daily census ~10
- Inpatient; hospitalists manage both med/surg and ICU patients (ICU rounding/admits required)
- 12-hour rotating day (0700-1900) and/or night (1900-0700) shifts in 3-4 shift increments (no 24s)
- Adults 18+ (pediatricians follow peds; hospitalist may be consulted)
- ~10 cases per day; working solo
- Vent management, intubation, and central lines preferred
- Epic EMR
- 3-6 month assignment
Job Responsibilities
- Perform ICU rounding and admissions
- Provide vent management, intubation, and central lines (preferred)
- Work 12-hour rotating day and/or night shifts in 3-4 shift increments
- Care for ~10 cases per day (working solo)
Qualifications
- Active Alaska license and Alaska DEA required (IMLC explored once AK in place)
- BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Case logs documenting internal medicine or family medicine services in the past 24 months
- Epic EMR experience preferred
