Position Overview

Join a robust hospital medicine program serving a 339-bed acute care hospital with comprehensive specialty services and an established reputation for clinical excellence. Physicians will focus on inpatient rounding responsibilities within a collaborative team-based model.

Practice Highlights

• 339 Inpatient Beds
• 36 Dedicated ICU Beds
• Open ICU Environment
• Epic EMR with MModal Dictation
• No Procedures Required

Coverage Model

Day Team

• 10 Hospitalist Physicians
• 3 Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants

Night Team

• 2 Hospitalist Physicians
• 1 Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Clinical Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounding and patient management
• Respond to Rapid Response Team activations
• Respond to Codes
• Collaborate with consulting specialists
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning

Specialty Support

Comprehensive specialty coverage is available, including:

• Neurology
• Orthopedics
• General Surgery
• Cardiology
• Oncology
• Gastroenterology

Academic Environment

The hospital serves as a teaching site for:

• Family Medicine Graduate Medical Education Program
• Internal Medicine Graduate Medical Education Program

Physicians interested in teaching and mentoring residents will find opportunities to participate in medical education.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• MD or DO
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience preferred
• Eligible for Mississippi medical licensure
