Hospitalist Physician Opportunity – Alaska | 3–6 Month Locums Assignment
Ascend Medical Staffing
Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Hospitalist physician for an exciting locums opportunity in Alaska beginning in August. This is a 3–6 month assignment offering flexible scheduling, excellent support services, and all travel expenses covered.
Position Highlights
- Start Date: August 2026
- Assignment Length: 3–6 months
- Schedule:
- 5–7 day rotations
- Flexible 8 or 12-hour shifts
- Alaska medical license required.
- Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine experience required
Facility Details
- Inpatient census: approximately 15–22 patients
- ED volume:
- Daytime: 15–20 patients
- Nights are significantly slower
- Annual ER volume: approximately 6,000 visits
- Current staffing includes two providers during this season
Practice information
- 2-bed ICU with step-down level care
- 24/7 tele-critical care access
- Tele-ICU and Tele-Stroke services available
- 24-hour imaging:
- Plain films
- CT available overnight
- 24-hour lab services
- Pharmacy on-site/on-call
- Respiratory Therapy available
- 24-hour general surgery coverage
- Orthopedic coverage available most of the time
