CDI Physician Advisor (MD/DO) – Hybrid Opportunity

Are you passionate about clinical documentation integrity and driving accurate patient representation? We’re seeking a CDI Physician Advisor to serve as the clinical bridge between providers, CDI specialists, and coding teams in a highly impactful, detail-driven role.

This is a true “deep dive” position, ideal for physicians who enjoy chart review, education, and improving quality outcomes through precise documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct in-depth chart reviews to ensure accurate documentation of Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality (ROM)
• Review 15–20 charts daily, with additional follow-up volume (30–40 cases)
• Educate and coach physicians and APPs on documentation best practices and DRG accuracy
• Partner on clinical validation, mortality reviews, and denial management
• Create compliant physician queries to support coding integrity
• Ensure alignment with CMS guidelines, hospital policies, and quality metrics (HACs/PSIs)

What You Bring

• MD or DO required
• CDI experience with Faircode or Accuity OR 10+ years as a hospitalist
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation, coding, and compliance
• Excellent communication and physician engagement skills

Preferred

• Experience with SharePoint and Excel

Schedule & Location

• Hybrid role: ~3 days/week onsite (potential to increase to 5 days/week)
• Travel between 10 community hospitals
