We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused staff hospitalist to join our inpatient care team in Rutherfordton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients while collaborating closely with nursing staff, specialists, case management, and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients
  • Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharges
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with specialists
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care plans
  • Ensure timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital protocols
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing length of stay and readmissions
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure smooth transitions of care
  • Work closely with case management and social services to optimize discharge outcomes
Hospitalists at Rutherford Regional enjoy traditional 7 on/7 off block scheduling and reasonable patient census consistent with community hospital standards.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicine
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license
  • Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
  • New graduates and experienced hospitalists encouraged to apply
