Facility:
This 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital serves as an important healthcare provider for the rural population across three states. The facility features a collaborative, mission-driven medical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care with strong interdisciplinary support.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hospitalist
Job Details:
• Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions • Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care • Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, Emergency Medicine physicians, and ancillary services • Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care • Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies • Document all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes thoroughly and timely in the EMR • Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations • Provide ventilator management • Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations • No procedures required; work with specialty backup including surgeons (for central lines), respiratory therapy, EM physicians, and CRNAs • Rotating call schedule and weekend coverage (0700-1900 when scheduled) • Must be MD or DO from accredited medical school • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine • Active Vermont Medical License and DEA required • BLS and ACLS Certification required • Ventilator management experience and experience running codes required • 2-3 years Hospitalist experience highly preferred • Rural health experience highly preferred • Clean malpractice history required • J1 Visa candidates accepted; must live within 1 hour commute • Not open to LOCUM or LOCUM to PERM candidates
