  • Level 1 Trauma Center
  • 590 beds
  • Full specialty support
  • Open ICU with Intensivist on site 24/7
  • Critical Care Program managed by SCP Health
  • No procedures required
  • Staffing Model:
    • 6 MD/DOs 7am-7pm (1 admitting & 5 rounding)
    • 3 NP/PAs 7am-7pm (rounding)
    • 1 NP/PA 5pm-5am (cross coverage)
    • 1 MD/DO 7pm-7am (admitting)
  • EMR: Meditech

Research Medical Center is one of Kansas City’s leading acute-care hospitals. The hospital offers a range of services to patients, including emergency care with a Level I Trauma Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and effective treatment for heart attack and sepsis. Other specialized programs include traumatic brain injury, TIA, Grossman Burn Center, Gastrointestinal (GI) Center of Excellence, oncology care in partnership with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, 24-hour obstetrics ER, Level III NICU, Transplant Institute, Center for the Relief of Pain, orthopedics/sports medicine and much more.
