Facility:
This medical center is a Level 3 trauma facility providing comprehensive women's health services to the community. The hospital features a well-established OB/GYN department with labor and delivery, postpartum, OR, and ER support staff, as well as onsite lab and ultrasound capabilities and CERNER EMR system.

Job Details:
• Locum OB/GYN Hospitalist position covering weekday and weekend shifts • Flexible scheduling options: either 24-hour shifts (8a-8a) or 12-hour shifts (8a-8p) • Must be available to work Mon-Fri with some weekends • On-site call with comfortable sleep room provided • Triage and deliver Genesis OB patients (averaging 65-80 deliveries monthly) • Cover Genesis ER calls for OB/GYN needs • Perform daily rounding on Genesis patients • Cover patients without assigned physicians (approximately 1 or less per day) • Perform circumcisions if able (not mandatory) • Manage both low-risk (40%) and high-risk pregnancies (60%) • Conduct FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE • Perform OB ultrasounds, Level I/Screening (Viability) • Handle amniocentesis procedures • Manage routine deliveries - vaginal, low forceps, and decision-making for C-sections • Handle complicated deliveries - C-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs • Perform repair of 3rd & 4th-degree lacerations • Conduct surgical gynecology - open procedures, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures, and operative/major procedures • Work with resident physicians when on call • Must have active Iowa medical license or active IMLC • Fetal monitoring experience required • Board certification in OB/GYN required (cannot accept FM OB Physicians) • Clean malpractice/background history required • Credentialing timeframe: 30-90 days depending on applicant response time
