Position Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time / Per Diem Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join our inpatient team at Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, California. Palmdale Regional is an acute-care community hospital serving the Antelope Valley and surrounding communities. The hospital also supports physician education through its residency programs.
We are currently hiring for:
- One Part-Time / Per Diem Night Hospitalist — approximately 7–10 shifts per month, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
This is a nights-only position offering flexible scheduling, no procedural requirements, and the opportunity to work within a physician-led, highly collaborative hospital medicine care model.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced inpatient setting during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient medical care for adult patients during overnight shifts
- Manage overnight admissions, cross-cover patients, and transitions of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation, orders, and workflow management
- Supervise and support residents and advanced practice providers as applicable
- Respond to changes in patient condition and coordinate appropriate treatment and consultation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
- Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and documentation standards
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for California medical licensure
- Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced hospital setting, particularly during overnight hours
- ACLS/BLS certification required
- Prior inpatient/hospitalist experience preferred, but not required
