Facility Information
Smyth County Community Hospital, includes a 44-bed acute care hospital, a 109-bed nursing care facility, and a variety of outreach programs. There are more than 50 physicians serving on its active medical staff. The hospital offers surgical services, rehabilitation services, women’s services, emergency services, cardio-pulmonary services, most acute care including home health, skilled nursing and long-term care. Other services include a diagnostic sleep center, cardio/pulmonary rehabilitation and an inpatient rehabilitation unit. Smyth County Community Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission.

Marion is located about a mile off route I-81 in Southwestern Virginia between Wytheville and Abingdon. The town is about 1.5 hours southwest of Roanoke and 2.5 hours north of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Details
- 26 Acute Care Beds (incl. 4 acuity adj. beds ICU/PCU)
- NO ICU
- EMR: Epic
- No required procedures
- Codes/Rapid Response handled by ED physicians
- 12-hour shift, (7a-7p, 7p-7a)
- 7 on/7off schedule
- Days: 1 MD
- Nights: 1 MD Tele support for admissions & floor call
- Board Eligible or Certified in Internal or Family Medicine
- Be within 7 years of graduation
- Or 2 years prior hospitalist experience
- Board Certified as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- 2 years prior hospitalist experience
- H1b/J1 sponsorship
