Position Description: Medical ICU Hospitalist (Nocturnist)
Greenwood, SC
Full time
Schedule:
* 7 nights on / 7 nights off
* Monday night through Sunday night
* 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Position Details:
* 30-bed ICU, with many beds co-managed by other service lines (e.g., teaching service, surgery, etc.), so you are not always first call
* Dedicated hospitalist coverage for all floor calls
* You are not the code team—residents respond to rapid responses and code blues; you would respond to ICU codes only
* Typical admissions: 4–6 per night, per physician (shared 1:1 with the other nocturnist on call)
* From 7 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Thursday, additional hospitalist support is available to assist with admissions
Procedural Skills Preferred:
* Intubations / airway management
* Central line placement
* Ventilator management
* Pressor use
* Arterial lines (preferred, not required)
Qualifications:
* MD/DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Critical Care specialties
* Minimum of 1+ year experience in ICU care required for Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians
* Intensivist training backgrounds considered, including:
* Anesthesia Critical Care
* Pulmonary/Critical Care
* Emergency Medicine Critical Care
