Required Skills:
  • MD or DO license valid in Iowa
  • Board eligible or certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Proven experience in obstetric and gynecological emergency care
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience as a hospitalist or in a similar locum position
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (specific system to be determined)
  • Experience managing NICU Level 1 cases
  • Additional certifications such as NRP, ALCS, or FHM

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
  • Minimum of 2 years of obstetric practice, preferably in hospital settings
  • Previous locum or temporary assignment experience is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start on 12/31/2025
  • Ability to perform typical cases including OB triage, unassigned GYN emergencies, and deliveries (average 200 deliveries annually)
  • Willingness to work clinic and call shifts, with an expected patient encounter rate of about 13+ per day
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care in accordance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws
  • Willingness to travel, with reimbursable licensure, certification, and travel expenses
