Job Description

Last Update: 4/19/24

To prospective teammates,

I’m the Regional Medical Director for Meadows Regional in Vidalia, Georgia. I have been a part of Sound Physicians for two years. I’m proud of the practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians and advanced practitioners coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People:
  • We are a closely knit, established team of six physicians and two advanced practitioners (APPs), with the support of one clinical performance nurse.
  • Our group is a new and Sound started hospitalist services at Meadows a little over two years ago.
  • Vidalia is quite a little town best known for its Vidalia Onions, and much of the city is composed of farms producing various fruits and vegetables. Vidalia is the perfect location if you desire a quiet town with lots of open space.
  • We enjoy spending time with our families enjoying the outdoors. The weather is fantastic and affords year-round outdoor activities for our families.
Practice:
  • We have two doctor rounders/day and one advanced practitioner rounding on patients at a 56-bed hospital.
  • Our physicians also cover an open eight-bed ICU with tele-intensivist backup day and night.
  • A flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
  • Clinically working on a seven on/off schedule, this role allows for the possibility of carving out protected administrative time.
  • The annual compensation for this position is $318,500, in addition to a director stipend, productivity incentive, and quality incentive.
Purpose:
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We are community-minded and urge team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to make our local community thrive.
