To our prospective teammates,

I’m the System Medical Director for St. John Sapulpa, located in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. I’m proud of the hospital medicine practice we’ve built and welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) coming out of training or looking to make a career change. I’d like to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:

People
  • Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
  • Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a smooth transition of care. Many of us are active in community health initiatives through the hospital, including connecting our patients and members of the community with fresh food and identifying other ways to mitigate social determinants of health.
  • Experience the charm of suburban living in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, just a short distance from Tulsa, offering a blend of community warmth, convenient amenities, and easy access to a nearby metropolitan area’s cultural and recreational offerings.
  • We’re proud to offer J1-visa sponsorship through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Conrad 30.
Practice
  • If you seek meaningful work with a less acute patient base and value autonomy, consider joining us in Sapulpa.
  • Situated just 20 minutes southwest of Tulsa, we are a critical access hospital providing essential healthcare services.
  • St. John Sapulpa exudes a genuine ‘family’ feel, fostering close relationships among physicians, ancillary teams, and hospital administration.
  • The position offers a day-only schedule with a seven-on/off rotation.
  • APP supervision is not required for this role.
  • Benefit from the support of the larger Ascension Tulsa system, enhancing our collaborative healthcare capabilities.
  • We offer competitive compensation along with quality and productivity incentives.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • Our retention rate is high, and we work collaboratively within our team to ensure coverage for time off.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and support involvement and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
