Last Update: 4/19/24

To our prospective teammates,

I am the Medical Director for St. John Jane Phillips, located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I am proud of the hospital medicine practice we have built. I welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) coming out of training or looking to make a career change. I want to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:

People
  • Our cohesive team of ten clinicians provides a sense of community, fostering a welcoming culture for new colleagues.
  • Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a smooth transition of care. Many of us are active in community health initiatives through the hospital, including connecting our patients and members of the community with fresh food and identifying other ways to mitigate social determinants of health.
  • A dynamic and vibrant new medical director recently joined our team
  • Bartlesville, Oklahoma, only an hour away from Tulsa, offers a blend of cultural attractions, including the renowned Price Tower Arts Center and Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve, alongside a rich history, vibrant community events, and access to outdoor recreation at the nearby Osage Hills State Park.
  • We seek individuals who value collaboration and enjoy working with teammates who support one another. If you are a team player with this mindset, we would like to welcome you as a like-minded colleague.
Practice
  • With an open ICU and tele-intensivists available, the hospital offers flexibility in patient care.
  • While the ability to perform procedures is preferred, it is not mandatory, and proctoring is available for those interested.
  • The average number of admissions for this position ranges from six to nine.
  • Colleagues can expect a nice mix of complex cases and bread-and-butter cases.
  • The hospital, boasting 140 beds, is conveniently situated in a picturesque location just north of Tulsa, offering an easy and beautiful drive.
  • The facility has garnered recognition, including being named a Top 20 Rural Community Hospital and a Top 100 Hospital, and has received accolades for excellence in treating heart attack patients, earning an Excellence in Healthcare Award, Platinum Recognition for Workplace Partnership for Life, and a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade Award.
  • The facility excels in providing robust and comprehensive subspecialty support, ensuring a high standard of specialized care for a diverse range of medical needs.
  • The hospital serves Northeast Oklahoma and Southern Kansas, and for more complex care needs, it benefits from the support of St. John Medical Center.
  • The opportunity exists to mentor high school students interested in medicine, with this option available during the day shift.
  • We offer competitive compensation along with quality and productivity incentives.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • Our retention rate is high, and we work collaboratively within our team to ensure coverage for time off.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We are a community-minded team and support involvement and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
