Medical Director / System Leadership Opportunity
Overview:
* Serve as Hospice Medical Director for the local hospice program approximately 80% of the role
* Serve as Lead Hospice Medical Director for the broader regional hospice system approximately 20% of the role
* Join an established team of part-time Hospice physicians
* Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners, RNs, Case Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Chaplains, Music Therapists, Massage Therapists, Home Hospice Aides and volunteers
* Oversee clinical aspects of hospice patient care and contribute to the interdisciplinary care team
* Local program maintains a census of approximately 130–150 home hospice patients
* 16-bed inpatient hospice facility providing all levels of care
* Local hospice program holds a CMS 5-Star designation
* Regional hospice network operates in 10 communities across South Dakota, northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota
* System includes 15 physicians serving as Medical Directors or Associate Medical Directors
* Opportunities for academic appointments, teaching and mentorship through medical school and residency programs
* Clinical research opportunities available with dedicated research support
* Epic EMR utilized for longitudinal care
* Board-Certified or Board-Eligible physician required
* Hospice/Palliative Medicine fellowship training preferred
* 1–3 years of Hospice Medical Director experience preferred
