Associate Medical Director - Palliative Care Services
Location: Johnson City, NY - Binghamton 3m
Setting: Hospital-Based Palliative Medicine Program
Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent position
Position Highlights
* Leadership role within an established interdisciplinary team of physicians, NPs, social workers, and an administrative director
* Monday-Friday schedule
* Collaborative environment with strong mentorship and support
* Opportunity to assist in program growth, with a particular focus on outpatient expansion
Key Responsibilities
* Perform outpatient evaluations and treatment, including physical exams, diagnostic interpretation, and care planning
* Provide inpatient consultations, participate in goals-of-care meetings, and round on hospitalized patients
* Develop and strengthen collaborative relationships across hospital departments to advance primary palliative care delivery
* Participate as a clinical educator, teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows
* Engage in clinical research as determined by the Medical Director
* Serve as a member of the Ethics Committee
* Contribute to program development, quality, equity, and patient experience initiatives
Requirements
* Board certified/eligible in Palliative Medicine
* Board certified/eligible in a primary specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.)
* Eligible for medical licensure in New York State
* Strong understanding of palliative care clinical models, including program design, business modeling, quality, productivity, and equity
* Experience in new program development or expansion preferred
* Teaching experience desirable
