Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a high-utility locum tenens engagement to bridge a recruitment gap. This role focuses primarily on outpatient clinical care, offering a predictable schedule with flexible, optional on-call opportunities. While the administrative facility hub is located in Pontiac, the physician will physically practice at our clinical site in Lapeer, MI.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology consultation and longitudinal care.
• Manage an average patient volume of 15–20 clinic patients per day.
• Collaborate effectively with a dedicated multidisciplinary oncology support team, including Oncology RNs, Medical Assistants, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Nurse Navigators.
• Utilize the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for efficient documentation and clinical tracking.
Qualifications
• Board Certification: Board Certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology (Truly Board-Eligible candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis).
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Michigan Medical License (IMLC is not accepted for this role).
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Practice Location: Absolute willingness to work physically at the Lapeer, MI clinical site.
Working Hours
• Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Shift Volume: Estimated 85 shifts total (Outpatient clinic coverage)
• On-Call: Optional nightly call and optional 24-hour weekend call
• Weekend Work: No mandatory weekend clinic hours
• Target Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Compensation: Competitive hourly rates
