## Benign Hematologist | Grand Rapids, MI West Michigan — Michigan's Second-Largest City ## Position Details * Full-time, permanent hospital-employed position * Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00a–5:00p * Setting: Outpatient — comprehensive cancer program with 150+ board-certified physicians and 17 oncology specialties * Academic appointment available through Michigan State University — commensurate with experience ## Practice Overview Seeking a BC/BE Classic or Benign Hematologist with adult sickle cell expertise to join a comprehensive cancer program actively pursuing NCI designation: * Specialized care for benign hematology patients with a focus on adult sickle cell management * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in tumor boards * Expand practice opportunities across West Michigan * FACT-accredited Bone Marrow Transplant program including CAR T-Cell Therapy * Comprehensive radiology program with port placement * 11 specialized cancer programs including a Breast Diagnostic Center and radiation oncology services * Diagnostic, treatment, and clinical trial services — clinical trials experience a plus * Participate in the launch of a Hematology Oncology fellowship training program in 2025/2026 * Robust support services including nurse navigation, cancer rehab, palliative care, and integrative medicine * Part of a patient-centered health system actively pursuing NCI designation ## Compensation & Benefits * Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package * Academic appointment through Michigan State University * Full benefits — details provided upon inquiry ## Required Qualifications * MD or DO — Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology * Active Michigan medical license upon hire — required * Active Michigan DEA registration upon hire — required * BLS within 120 days of hire (AHA or ARC) — required * ACLS if required by specialty * Clinical trials experience — a plus ## About the Community – Grand Rapids, Michigan * Michigan's second-largest city — vibrant downtown, diverse dining, and a thriving cultural scene * Known as "Beer City USA" — world-class craft brewery scene * Home to ArtPrize — one of the world's largest and most attended public art events * Close to the stunning West Michigan lakeshore — Lake Michigan beaches, dunes, and outdoor recreation * Recognized as one of the best places to raise a family — excellent schools, affordable housing, and a strong sense of community * Gerald R.
