Description
Noor Locums is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology-Oncology physician for a flexible, part-time locum tenens opportunity in Ketchikan, Alaska.
This position offers approximately 5 consecutive days of onsite coverage per month, with additional remote inbox coverage between visits. The physician will provide both medical oncology and hematology services, including infusion oversight and bone marrow biopsies.
Coverage period: December 7, 2026, through March 30, 2027, with a potential need for continued coverage.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage adult and geriatric oncology patients.
Provide infusion and medical oncology/hematology care.
Perform bone marrow biopsies.
Manage patient calls, clinical decisions, and inbox responsibilities between onsite visits.
Review patient results and coordinate follow-up care.
Participate in tumor board discussions.
Coordinate care with pathology, imaging, infusion nursing, and pharmacy teams.
Document patient care using EPIC.
Qualifications
Active Alaska medical license required at the time of presentation.
DEA registration required.
Current BLS or ACLS certification required.
PALS preferred.
Must provide case logs documenting hematology/medical oncology services within the previous 24 months. This requirement is waived for physicians who completed training within the previous year.
Must be comfortable practicing independently.
Must be available for 5 consecutive days per month.
Working Hours
Clinic hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Break: 1-hour lunch.
Additional coverage: Remote inbox, calls, and clinical decision-making between onsite visits.
FTE: Approximately 0.25.
Call: None.
Setting: Outpatient clinic and hospital privileges within the same building.
