Hematology/Oncology Physician Locum Opportunity – Lewisburg, PA

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, beginning October 2026. This position offers a combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient consult coverage within a new Medical Oncology and Hematology practice. Full-time coverage is preferred, although candidates available 4 days per week may be considered.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Coverage through March 8, 2027

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Weeknight and weekend call: 1:2
• 2 hours gratis for 24-hour call
• All orientation hours billable

Practice Setting

• Hematology/Oncology
• Outpatient clinic and hospital coverage
• New Medical Oncology and Hematology practice
• Clinic located within the hospital
• 131-bed Acute Care Hospital
• Adult patients ages 18+
• Epic EMR

Patient Volume

• Approximately 10 patients per day
• Volume expected to increase as the practice grows
• Approximately 60% Oncology / 40% Hematology

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide community-based Medical Oncology and Hematology care
• Evaluate and manage adult Oncology patients
• Evaluate and manage benign and malignant Hematology patients
• Provide outpatient clinic coverage
• Provide inpatient hospital consultations as needed
• Participate in weeknight and weekend call coverage

Support Staff

• 1 employed full-time physician
• 1 RN
• 1 MA
• 1 Patient Navigator
• 2 front-office staff
• Additional practice support personnel

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology required
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC LOQ required at presentation
• DEA required
• Comfortable providing both Hematology and Oncology coverage

Credentialing

• Approximately 90-day credentialing timeframe
• Temporary privileges may be available for urgent needs for Pennsylvania-licensed physicians with clean, non-complex files
• Full compliance required 2 weeks before start
• Background checks, fingerprinting, vaccinations, physical, and fit testing required
• Credentialing documents must be completed promptly after signing
