Job description
We are seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position in Michigan City, Indiana. This opportunity combines weekday outpatient clinic coverage with daily call responsibilities, including inpatient consultative rounding. Please see below for more information.
- Setting: Outpatient clinic
- EMR: Epic
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage new and established hematology and oncology patients, with a clinic scope of approximately 20 patients per day
Develop and manage chemotherapy treatment plans
Apply NCCN guidelines in clinical decision-making
Manage and respond to medication- and chemotherapy-related adverse events
Provide inpatient consultative coverage while on call, with rounding of up to approximately two hours; admissions and discharges are not required, consults only
Qualifications
Active Indiana medical license required
Active DEA registration required (or one that can be readily transferred to and maintained in Indiana)
Working Hours
Call: Seven days per week
Inpatient consult rounding of up to approximately two hours while on call; in-house presence is not required
Call may be taken from clinic when the schedule allows
