Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 12 months preferred

Practice Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Private Practice
EMR: Meditech
The need is due to a staff physician retiring in November. ASAP availability is preferred, and providers who are able to start earlier are welcome to do so.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematology/Oncology physician for an outpatient locum tenens opportunity in Kentucky. This is a low-volume practice with approximately 15 patients per day and a supportive clinical team.The need is due to a staff physician retiring in November. ASAP availability is preferred, and providers who are able to start earlier are welcome to do so.
Schedule & Coverage
- 3 days per week preferred
- 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- No call
- The client is also open to two providers working alternating schedules
- Potential scheduling options include 1 week on/1 week off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
- Approximately 3 days of coverage needed per week
Clinical Details
- Approximately 60% Hematology / 40% Medical Oncology
- Approximately 20% new patients / 80% follow-ups
- Approximately 15 patients per day
- Low-volume outpatient setting
- High-acuity cases such as acute leukemia are generally referred to tertiary centers
- Standard medical oncology infusion supervision
- Participation in tumor board is required
Support Staff
- The physician will work alongside an experienced support team, including:
- 3 physicians at the location
- 1 APP on-site daily
- Oncology-trained RNs dedicated to infusion services
- APPs assist with follow-up visits and supportive care
- APPs may conduct independent follow-ups depending on clinic needs and physician comfort
- APPs assist with documentation and orders in collaboration with the physician
- Dedicated infusion and nursing support during clinic hours
Pay on 1099:
- Hourly Rate: $550/hr
- OT /Holiday Rate: $600/hr
- Orientation Rate: $100/hr
Requirements
- Updated CV (No Gaps above 30 days)
- NPDB Self Query - ( Must be current month )
- Current Board Certification or Board Eligibility
- Must be eligible for active participation in the examination process leading to certification in Hematology/Oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM)
- Recent patient-facing clinical experience required
- Case logs from the past 24 months required
- Active licensure and appropriate credentials for practice in Kentucky
- DEA registration as required for the position
- Ability to participate in credentialing and onboarding requirements
