Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician for a part-time locum tenens opportunity in Ketchikan, Alaska.
The physician will provide remote inbox coverage approximately 5 days per month, while supporting both hematology and medical oncology services. Hospital and clinic privileges are required, with both services located in the same building.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a flexible, part-time assignment with no call requirement.
Job Responsibilities
Provide remote inbox coverage approximately 5 days per month.
Review and respond to patient messages, clinical inquiries, and follow-up needs.
Evaluate and manage adult and geriatric oncology/hematology patients.
Provide medical oncology and hematology consultation and follow-up.
Perform bone marrow biopsy procedures as required.
Collaborate with infusion and oncology support teams.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
Provide safe, evidence-based patient care.
Qualifications
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
Active Alaska medical license required at the time of presentation
Alaska DEA required
BLS, ACLS, or PALS required
Recent hematology/medical oncology clinical experience
Applicant must provide documentation of hematology/medical oncology services performed during the previous 24 months.
Case-log requirement may be waived for physicians who completed training within the previous year.
Clean file preferred due to expedited credentialing requirements.
Working Hours
8:00 AM–5:00 PM
1-hour lunch break
Approximately 5 days per month
Remote inbox coverage
No call required
Approval currently through March 30, 2027
