Job description
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician for a locum tenens position in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity (minimum 6-month commitment) with an established patient panel. Please see below for more information.
- Acute care hospital (WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital), rural community setting
- Established adult Hematology & Oncology patient panel
- Case mix approximately 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology; average 15 patients/day
- 14-chair infusion center and 2-bed infusion room onsite with oncology-certified nursing staff
- Radiation Oncology onsite; onsite pharmacist support; 3 APPs
- Epic EMR
Job Responsibilities
• Manage an established patient panel, averaging 15 patients per day
• Provide consulting service for inpatients (hospitalists manage admissions)
• Participate in call: 2 weekends/month and night call 10 days/month (1:2 rotation, inpatient + phone coverage)
• Participate in disease-specific and general tumor boards
Qualifications
• Active PA license or IMLC required
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days (temporary privileges available for clean files)
