We are seeking a Hematology and Oncology physician for a locum tenens position in Saint Louis, MO. This is an opportunity to join an established hematology/oncology department providing comprehensive cancer care and benign hematology services. Please see below for more information.
The department manages a diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings, with support from an oncology pharmacist and oncology nursing staff. The facility offers onsite infusion services and radiation therapy capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
Provide inpatient hematology/oncology care
Oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and supportive care (blood transfusions, growth factor support)
Perform and interpret bone marrow biopsies and aspirations
Manage oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, spinal cord compression, neutropenic fever)
Coordinate genetic testing and counseling
Manage benign hematology conditions including sickle cell anemia and coagulopathies
Supervise advanced practice providers
Qualifications
Missouri medical license (IMLC accepted)
DEA registration
Missouri BNDD registration
BLS and ACLS certifications
Working Hours
Tuesday: AM rounding only
Wednesday: AM rounding; 12:00 PM–6:00 PM clinic
Thursday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM clinic; rounding after clinic
Friday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM clinic
