Job description
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a locum tenens position in Saint Louis, MO. This is a 6-week assignment beginning August 10, 2026, combining outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding with a strong multidisciplinary support team. Please see below for more information.
EMR: Epic
Adult patient population
Support staff includes oncology pharmacist, nurse navigator, oncology RN, onsite radiation therapy, and onsite infusion center
Job Responsibilities
Manage solid tumor malignancies including breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, head and neck, and melanoma/other skin cancers
Treat hematologic conditions including sickle cell anemia, coagulopathies, and benign hematology
Oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, blood transfusions, and growth factor support
Perform chemotherapy/supervision orders and bone marrow biopsies/aspirations
Manage oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, spinal cord compression, and neutropenic fever
Coordinate genetic testing and counseling
Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Qualifications
Active Missouri state license or IMLC accepted
DEA required
Missouri BNDD (state controlled substance registration) required
BLS and ACLS required
Working Hours
Assignment Length: 6 weeks
Schedule: Day shifts, 4 days per week, no call
Monday: 8a–12p in clinic, rounding afterwards
Tuesday: AM rounding only (no clinic)
Wednesday: AM rounding; 12p–6p in clinic
Thursday: 8a–12p in clinic, rounding afterwards
Friday: 8a–4p in clinic
