Job description
A leading, high-performing oncology program in Covington, Louisiana is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join its growing multidisciplinary cancer care team.
This is a full-time outpatient role within a nationally recognized MD Anderson Cancer Network–affiliated system, providing patients access to advanced treatment protocols, clinical trials, and cutting-edge oncology care.
The organization is part of a large integrated health system with over 36,000 employees and 4,600+ physicians, offering strong infrastructure, collaboration, and clinical support.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematologic conditions
Develop individualized cancer treatment plans
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions
Manage occasional patient admissions as needed
Participate in shared 2nd-call (backup) rotation
Collaborate with oncology, radiation, and surgical teams
Optional participation in clinical research and teaching
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
Fellowship training required
Active or eligible Louisiana medical license
Strong clinical oncology and hematology background
Ability to work in multidisciplinary care environment
ACLS/BLS required
Working Hours
Outpatient clinical schedule
Scheduled call (2nd call / backup rotation)
No routine inpatient rounding required
