Bon Secours Cancer Institute at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an experienced Locum Medical Oncologist to provide inpatient coverage—and limited outpatient support—for several months of gap coverage. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to care for oncology and hematology patients within a well-established cancer program.

- Coverage Dates: April 20 – August 14, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekly coverage
- Setting: Primarily inpatient, with some outpatient coverage for physician vacation
- Patient Population: Adult
- Reason for Need: Departed physician relocating

- Oncology – Inpatient

- Average Inpatient Census: 12–15 patients/day

📌 Key Requirements
The locum provider must be willing and able to:
- Oversee a Nurse Practitioner
- Enroll patients in research studies
- Provide call coverage
📋 Submission Requirements (All Required)
- Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
- Active Virginia Medical License
- BLS Certification
- Clean background for temporary privileges
- NPDB Self-Query (dated within 30 days of submission)
🛠️ Core Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee inpatient oncology & hematology services
- Provide limited outpatient coverage as needed
- Supervise NP for designated responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult oncology patients
- Communicate findings and plans with the care team
- Participate in research enrollment and trial-related activities
- Provide consultative services and call responsibilities
- Document using EPIC EMR
