Facility in Des Moines, IA seeking Hem/Onc locums coverage

Compensation: Hourly: $550/hr, 24-hour call: $3500, Night call: $800, Callback: $700/hr

Position Details

Specialty: Hematology / Oncology

Practice Setting: Inpatient & Clinic

Coverage Type: Locum Tenens

Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, Clinic schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 4–5 days per week

On-call required (schedule TBD)

Patient contact hours: 6 per day, Clinic days: 8

Clinical Responsibilities

Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage including:

Inpatient coverage at both sites

Patient assessments

New and ongoing treatment plans

Changes in therapy

Chemotherapy management

Pain management

End-of-life care

Referral for ancillary services

Telehealth may be included in addition to inpatient responsibilities

Patient Volume

Clinic: 10–30 patients per day, Hospital census: 10–15 patients per day, Appointment times: Consults: 40 minutes, Follow-ups: 20 minutes

Practice Environment

1 physician in practice, No APPs, No supervision required, 1:1 nursing support

On-site: Medical imaging, Lab, Pharmacy.

Secondary: Commercial, Medicare

Requirements

Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology – required

Will consider Board Certified Oncology with Hematology experience (must be willing to see Hematology patients) – required

Active Iowa license or IMLC – required

Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology – required

Experience required

Must be willing to work at both sites – required

Clean malpractice/background – required

Self-Query NPDB (within the month) – required
