Start: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Need Schedule: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off (with call) Call: Yes – Exact schedule TBD ASAP Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Clinic Days: 8 per rotation Patient Contact Hours: 6 per day Procedure/OR Days: None Telehealth: Yes
Practice Setting-
Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage 4–5 days per week

Inpatient coverage required at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations

Number of Physicians: 1

Number of APPs: 0

Supervision of APPs: Not required

Nursing Support: 1:1

Medical Imaging, Lab & Pharmacy onsite

EMR: Epic

Outpatient clinic and inpatient coverage

Patient assessments
-
Development of new treatment plans
-
Ongoing treatment management and therapy adjustments

Referral for ancillary services
-
End-of-life care discussions
-
Chemotherapy management
-
Pain management coordination
-
Radiation and surgical oncology management supported by existing providers with strong referral relationships

Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 10–30 patients

Average Daily Hospital Census: 10–15 patients

Appointment Lengths:

New Consults: 40 minutes

Follow-Ups: 20 minutes

Primary Clinic: Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial

Secondary Clinic: Commercial, Medicare

Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology – Required

Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology – Required

Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (LOQ uploaded at time of name clear) – Required

Experienced Provider – Required

Must be willing to work at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations – Required

Clean Malpractice History – Required
This is an excellent opportunity for a Hematology/Oncology provider seeking either locum tenens or locum-to-perm placement with a balanced 2-week-on/2-week-off schedule and strong clinical support.
