This comprehensive healthcare system operates multiple medical centers providing advanced cancer care and hematology services to the Des Moines metropolitan area. The facilities offer full-service oncology departments with strong physician relationships, comprehensive support services, and state-of-the-art medical technology including EPIC EMR systems.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology Oncology
Job Details:
• Locum-to-permanent position with 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule
• Provide medical hematology/oncology coverage 4-5 days per week
• Clinic hours 8am-4pm with 6 patient contact hours daily
• Handle daily clinic volume of 10-30 patients with consults (40 minutes) and follow-ups (20 minutes)
• Manage average daily hospital census of 10-15 patients across both sites
• Provide inpatient coverage at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations
• Telehealth responsibilities in addition to inpatient duties
• Services include patient assessments, treatment plans, therapy changes, chemotherapy management, and end-of-life care
• Work with 1:1 nursing support and access to medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
• On-call responsibilities with exact schedule to be determined
• Weekend coverage as needed
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
• Fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology required
• Active Iowa license or IMLC required
• Experience in hematology/oncology required
• Clean malpractice and background history required
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
