Facility:
This established healthcare network operates multiple medical centers providing comprehensive oncology and hematology services to the Des Moines metropolitan area. The facilities feature advanced medical imaging, full laboratory and pharmacy services, and strong nursing support with a 1:1 ratio, ensuring excellent patient care and provider satisfaction.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology Oncology
Job Details:
• Provide medical hematology/oncology coverage 4-5 days per week at two facility locations
• Schedule includes 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation with call responsibilities
• Clinic hours 8am-4pm with 6 patient contact hours daily
• Handle 10-30 patients daily in clinic setting with average hospital census of 10-15 patients
• Manage both inpatient responsibilities at both Des Moines locations
• Provide telehealth services as needed
• Conduct patient assessments, develop new treatment plans, and manage ongoing therapies
• Oversee chemotherapy management and pain management protocols
• Coordinate care including referrals for ancillary services and end-of-life care
• Appointment scheduling: 40 minutes for consultations, 20 minutes for follow-ups
• Serve diverse patient population including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
• Fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology required
• Active Iowa license or IMLC required
• Experience required with clean malpractice and background history
• Weekend coverage as needed
