Setting: Outpatient Chemotherapy & Infusion Center
Coverage Dates: December 1–21 (additional 2026 gaps likely)
Position Overview
This role is with a solo-provider outpatient Oncology/Hematology clinic and Chemotherapy/Infusion Center. A dedicated midlevel provider supports patient flow, orders, and overall clinic operations.
There are no hospital consults. Remote call is required, and the provider may collaborate with ER physicians or hospitalists for admissions. The local hospital does not have inpatient oncology services.
Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM + night call

Friday–Sunday: 24-hour remote call coverage

Availability Needed: Dec 1–21, 2025 (possible continuation into 2026)
Clinical Duties

Full scope of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment for Hematology/Oncology patients

Medical oversight of oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services

Must be onsite for all infusion treatments

Infusion Center performs:

Chemotherapy & immunotherapy
-
Blood & platelet transfusions
-
Hormone therapy
-
Antibiotic therapy
-
Rheumatoid arthritis injections
-
Therapeutic phlebotomies

Required Procedures: None
Patient Volume
-
15–21 patients/day, Monday–Thursday
-
Shared between MD and long-term NP
-
Approximately 75% of visits placed on the MD’s schedule
-
Current call load: ~5 calls per day (24/7 weekly coverage)

1 Quality Analyst/Billing

NP onsite Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (covers Friday infusions and occasional Friday appointments)

Requirements

Active State Medical License
-
Medical Oncology Fellowship
-
CA DEA, BLS, ACLS
Preferred / Accepted

Board Certified in both Oncology & Hematology (highly preferred)

Will accept Board Eligible

Can consider candidates boarded in Oncology OR Hematology
Credentialing
