Job description
A well-established outpatient cancer care center in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join a collaborative and patient-centered oncology team. This full-time opportunity offers a balanced practice with access to clinical support services, research opportunities, and a schedule that supports work-life balance.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage outpatient oncology and hematology patients
Conduct inpatient consults (IP NP manages ER and initial inpatient work-ups)
Collaborate with social workers, chemo education teams, and lymphedema therapists
Participate in oncology research (optional)
Average 16–20 patients per clinic day
Share on-call duties with existing team
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
Unrestricted Louisiana medical license or eligibility to obtain one
Strong clinical expertise in both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Working Hours
Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Outpatient focused role with consult-only inpatient duties
