PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adults (general hematology/oncology)
  • Patient Volume/Census: TBD
  • Admissions: Yes
  • Rounding: Yes (inpatient cancer floor)
  • Phone Consults: Yes
  • Case Mix: Hematology and oncology patients across full spectrum

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • No. of Beds in Department: 420-bed hospital; 21 infusion rooms; dedicated inpatient oncology floors
  • Trauma Level: Level 2
  • Office Equipment Available: Radiation therapy and infusion center onsite; certified oncology nurses; onsite fitness facility
  • Specialty Backup Available: Radiation Oncology, hospitalist support, radiology, pain management, neurosurgery
  • Support Staff Available: 3 board-certified Hem/Onc physicians, certified oncology nurses, multidisciplinary cancer team
  • Reason for Coverage: Practice expansion

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama
  • Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
  • Experience: Fellowship trained in Hem/Onc
  • Other Qualifications: Team-oriented, able to work in collaborative environment; PSLF eligible

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a hospital-based cancer center
  • Participate in shared 1:4 call rotation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team
  • Engage in both inpatient and outpatient care delivery
  • Participate in teaching and academic opportunities through affiliation with ACOM
