Hematology/Oncology Job in Louisiana | $750K | No Nights or Weekends

Step into a busy community oncology program where the patient demand already exists and the next physician can focus on building the type of practice that fits their clinical interests. The incoming Hematologist/Oncologist will join a team operating at full capacity, with a steady referral pipeline generated by an established primary care network. While the current practice is weighted toward solid-tumor oncology, physicians have flexibility to shape their case mix, creating a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants to expand malignant hematology services locally. The program’s multidisciplinary approach brings oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, radiology, hospice, and palliative care together to support patients throughout their cancer journey. With an established patient base and the infrastructure already in place, this is an opportunity to make an immediate clinical impact rather than spend years building volume from scratch.

Position, Compensation & Organization Highlights

• $700K base salary guaranteed for up to 2 years
• Ability to transition to an RVU incentive model at any time
• $95 per wRVU bonus structure above the incentive threshold
• $50K sign-on bonus
• $25K/year student loan repayment, up to $125K maximum
• $25K/year retention bonus, up to $125K maximum
• 4.5 clinic days per week with 8-hour clinical days
• No nights and no weekends
• 90% outpatient / 10% inpatient practice
• 17–20 patients per clinic day, typically including 2–3 new patients
• 70% oncology / 30% hematology case mix
• 1:5 physician call as backup to APPs; physicians rarely need to come in during evenings
• 3 APPs handle first call and work up new ED and inpatient consults
• Approximately 2–3 inpatient consults per day, with hospitalists managing admissions and overnight care
• 1:1 medical assistant support plus a primary nurse paired with each physician
• Additional NP planned once the incoming physician joins
• Two cancer center locations with 16 infusion chairs and dedicated infusion nursing
• On-site pharmacy and Radiation Oncology with 2 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators
• Advanced CT, PET, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and other imaging capabilities
• Commission on Cancer-accredited program with multidisciplinary tumor boards
• Epic EMR
• 30 days of Time Away from Practice plus $4K annual CME allowance
