Job description

A facility in Washington needs locum tenens coverage for 24-hour OB call. The facility has well under 100 births a year.

About the Assignment

  • Shifts: Each shift is 24 hours of primary OB call.
  • Case mix: You'll handle deliveries and C-sections. Newborn care is preferred but not required.
  • EMR: The facility charts in Cerner.
  • Requirements: You'll need an active Washington license in hand, because the facility can't hold the start for licensing. You'll also need ACLS, NRP, and ALSO.
  • Board status: The facility prefers board-certified physicians and will consider board-eligible physicians.

Location and Lifestyle

Washington runs from rainy coastal forest in the west to dry, open country east of the mountains. On your days off, you can hike or camp in one of Washington's state parks.

About Interim Physicians

Ken Teufel, MD, founded the company that became Interim Physicians in 1979, a year after selling a solo family practice in small-town Texas to cover for physicians who couldn't get away. Dr. Teufel served as medical director for 42 years and was one of the founding fathers of locum tenens. The standards Dr. Teufel set still decide which physicians Interim presents to a facility.

Interim staff members average 14 years with the company, so the recruiter who places a physician is the same one who calls about the next assignment. Clinicians and facility clients have rated Interim 9 or 10 out of 10 often enough to earn ClearlyRated's Best of Staffing Diamond award.
