FACILITY: Sanford Worthington — 25-bed critical access hospital, established Sanford Health system
START DATE: September — urgent need. Additional weekend coverage through December.
DURATION: September through December | Open to two physicians splitting coverage
THE OPPORTUNITY
A community is counting on this coverage. One OB/GYN physician is stepping out for a medical procedure and the women of Worthington, Minnesota need someone to step in. This is not a corporate gap-fill. It is a single physician keeping a full OB/GYN practice alive for a community that has no other local option.
You would be the physician. The midwife and APP support you. The other OB/GYN is available for backup. You practice full-scope OB/GYN in a Sanford-supported environment with Epic, adequate support staff, and a patient panel that needs exactly what you do.
Job Responsibilities
Board certified OB/GYN required. Family Practice physicians with strong OB/GYN focus and documented C-section experience also considered.
C-sections are required. This is a non-negotiable. Candidates who cannot perform C-sections independently should not apply.
Active Minnesota license or ability to obtain via IMLC. Facility will wait on license.
DEA required
BC or BE accepted
Epic proficient preferred
60-day credentialing timeline. Cover sheet, CV, and NPDB required for submission.
Interview process: name clear, full presentation, then phone call with the administrator
THE COMPENSATION
Clinic: $175/hr
Weeknight beeper: $600/night
Weekend call: $2,500 per 24-hour period with 2-hour gratis
Callback rate: $225/hr, 1-hour minimum
Flight covered up to $1,000 round trip economy
Rental car up to $500/week with receipt
Lodging: Holiday Inn Express in town, or stipend available
Mileage reimbursed per 2026 IRS guidelines

For an OB/GYN physician who wants to be the physician a community depends on — rather than one of dozens in a large system — this is that role.

September 19-20
October 31 — November 1
December 24-27 (Christmas)
Ongoing weekend call coverage August through December
THE SCHEDULE
Clinic: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
12 to 15 patients per day, approximately 60% GYN and 40% OB
Patient mix: annual exams, pap smears, prenatal visits, pre-surgical exams, STI testing, birth control, OB scheduled visits
No OT expected
Weeknight call: 5pm to 7am
Weekend call: 24-hour coverage, 8am to 8am, with 2 hours of gratis built in
