Virginia Metabolic Geneticist
An academic medical center in Virginia is seeking a Metabolic Geneticist for an assignment anticipated to begin August 31, 2026 and continue for six months to one year.
The ideal coverage is one week per month. The anticipated clinical schedule includes a full clinic day Monday, a half-day Tuesday, and a full clinic day Thursday, along with call coverage surrounding the clinical block. Some additional telehealth coverage may also be requested.
Additional details include:
- Approximately one to two patients per day
- Patients ranging from newborns through adulthood
- Academic hospital setting
- Epic EMR
- Support from two other physicians and a physician assistant
- Strong metabolic genetics experience is essential
- Board-certified geneticists with substantial metabolic experience may be considered
- Virginia license required for practice, with licensing assistance available
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS requested
Missouri Pediatric Medical Geneticist
A nationally recognized children’s hospital in Missouri is seeking a Pediatric Medical Geneticist beginning in October 2026.
The ideal schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with night and weekend call coverage. The physician will provide outpatient genetic evaluations, inpatient consultations, and management of biochemical and metabolic disorders. Inpatient consultations may involve the PICU, NICU, and pediatric units.
Additional details include:
- Approximately four to five patients per day
- Primarily pediatric patients with occasional adult consultations
- Epic EMR
- Support from genetic counselors, a genetics nurse, and a genetic counseling assistant
- Board certification in Genetics required
- Missouri license preferred, with licensing candidates considered
- Illinois licensure is helpful for occasional telehealth consultations
This opening may be structured as a locum tenens assignment, permanent placement, or locum-to-permanent arrangement.
