Gastroenterologist Physician

An opportunity is available for a Board Certified Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient and procedural gastroenterology coverage in Northampton, Massachusetts. The physician will be responsible for daily inpatient rounds, performing add-on procedures, and providing weekday call coverage with PA support.

Compensation: $540 - $550 Per Hour

Schedule & Call Coverage

· Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (10-hour shifts).

· Night Call: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

· Physician will serve as second call due to PA support.

· No PA coverage from 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.; additional physician calls may occur during this period.

· Optional Weekend Call: Friday at 3:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m.

o Weekend call begins at 3:00 p.m. Friday to accommodate the PA coverage gap.

· Minimum commitment may be weekday coverage or weekend call.

· First 8 hours of orientation are non-billable.

· Holiday coverage paid at 1.4x.

Clinical Responsibilities

· Round on inpatients each morning.

· Perform add-on procedures as needed, typically completing cases around 5:00 p.m.

· Perform upper and lower endoscopies.

· Perform colonoscopies.

· Provide general gastroenterology procedures and patient care.

· Evaluate and manage inpatient GI patients.

· Coordinate care with the PA and other members of the clinical team.

Requirements

· Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

· Active Massachusetts medical license required.

· BLS certification.

· Active DEA registration.

· Minimum of 1 year of experience.
