This full-time Gastroenterology locum tenens assignment at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center (184-bed acute care hospital) in Prestonsburg, KY combines weekday clinic coverage (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) with a mix of inpatient consults/rounding, procedural work, and call responsibilities. The provider will deliver adult GI care across both outpatient and inpatient settings, including ERCP, EGD, colonoscopies, and other standard procedures, with OR time typically 2–3 days per week. Call runs 7:00 AM–7:00 AM with ~1–2 hours of morning rounding and averages ~10 call shifts per month, requiring both day coverage and night call plus onsite orientation. Clinic volume is approximately 25–30 patients/day (15- and 30-minute slots), procedural volume averages 12–15 OR cases/day (lower with higher complexity), and support includes 1 NP, 1 MA, and 1 clinic clerk; there is also potential for a permanent role longer-term.
