Locums | Advanced Gastroenterology | Duluth, MN (License Not Required to Bid) Why This Role

  • Advanced GI coverage featuring ERCP and EUS
  • Scheduled eight-hour weekday shifts
  • Primarily procedural and hospital-service coverage with no routine clinic
  • Partial availability for the initial block may be considered
  • Additional vacation coverage anticipated
Assignment Details Initial coverage: January 4–25, 2027, ending at 7:00 a.m. Two orientation days included Additional future dates expected Setting: Hospital-based inpatient service with inpatient and outpatient procedures Reason for coverage: Vacation EMR: Epic Temporary privileges available Schedule / Call Eight-hour weekday shifts Primarily procedures and hospital-service coverage Locum physician typically will not cover clinic Call schedule remains to be determined Most likely call model is weekend backup/second call Required response time: 20 minutes Final call expectations will be discussed before confirmation Clinical Scope EGD with biopsy, foreign-body removal, and bleeding control Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP Endoscopic ultrasound Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy Flexible sigmoidoscopy Small-bowel biopsy Inpatient GI consultations and hospital-service coverage PEG placement, esophageal dilation/manometry, liver biopsy, variceal injection, rigid sigmoidoscopy, and Sengstaken-Blakemore tube management are preferred Support Two advanced practice providers Operating-room nursing support No APP supervision required No resident or teaching responsibilities Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Gastroenterology fellowship training Current advanced GI experience Must independently perform ERCP and EUS Must be proficient in the required upper- and lower-GI procedures Ability to respond within 20 minutes when covering call Specific availability for January 4–25, 2027, required Credentialing Estimated timeframe: 45–120 days Temporary privileges available
